Taxi robbery victims urged to come forward
The Sebokeng SAPS appeals to victims of a robbery that took place on November 13, 2023, to come and identify their belongings.
SEBOKENG. – The police are urging victims of a robbery that happened inside a taxi that was traveling from Vereeniging to Sebokeng on November 13, 2023, to come forward.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane reports: “The passengers were robbed of their cell phones when their taxi stopped along the Kwaggastroom Station in zone 10.
“The victims were robbed by three unknown African males who were arrested on the same day by Sebokeng police after a passenger lodged a complaint. We appeal to the victims to come to Sebokeng SAPS to identify their belongings,” Mokhachane adds.
In efforts to clamp down on crime in the Sebokeng policing area, 22 suspects have been nabbed for various crimes ranging from malicious damage to property, possession of drugs, possession of live ammunition, assault, shoplifting, and common robbery.
Mokhachane reports that the arrests were affected during various operations carried out by police to combat crime over the weekend.
“All the arrested people have since appeared at the Sebokeng Magistrate’s Court.”
Mokhachane urges residents to report any form of criminal activity taking place in their community.
