EFF’s Ndlozi campaigns at VUT

As South Africa prepares for its seventh general election on May 29, opposition parties are at work on campaign trails in different communities. EFF's MP visited the Vaal.

VANDERBIJLPARK. – With the political landscape heating up in the run-up to the May 29 elections, the Vaal region saw a flow of activity as different parties contested for support.

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Member of Parliament and Vaal born, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, took to the Vaal University of Technology (VUT) campus on Friday, May 09, to rally students behind their party’s cause.

Amidst a sea of red berets and vibrant EFF regalia, Ndlozi addressed a crowd of students who passionately advocated for the EFF’s policies.

Speaking at the main residential sports fields, Ndlozi emphasized the importance of education as a tool for empowerment, promising increased access to free quality education and the eradication of student debt.

“We want to offer free education because it’s possible and we want to start this free education at Pre School. We want universities to be open to all people with potential. Education must be free,” he said.

“If Percy Tau is paid for being talented in soccer, how much more with a person talented in physics, mathematics, and biology? We must pay you for that talent. Once we pay you, you will make an effort and work hard in bringing solutions for the problems of society,” he said.

Ndlozi said the voting day should be a date for young people with their future and not entertainment.

“We want you to give the EFF a chance. The 29th of May is not a holiday or time to party. It is your appointment as a young person with your future. We don’t wake up and do anything else, we wake up and report at voting stations,” he said.

Ndlozi was flanked by EFF’s Sedibeng Regional Chairperson Isaac Khithika and the EFFSC leadership from different institions in the region.
