Brick-making machine rip man apart

An inquest docket is under investigation following a gruesome incident that claimed a life of a Bophelong man.

VANDERBIJLPARK – A brick-making machine swallowed a man in his 30s in one of the popular brick firms in Vanderbijlpark.

According to a police spokesperson they received a call about the incident on Monday, November 11.

Sergeant Sabelo Sigcu said on arrival, they were shown the lifeless body of a male.

“Police were informed that the deceased was working with a Rock Crusher Machine that pulled him in and crushed him to death,” he said.

Sigcu said Emergency Medical Services personnel certified him dead.

“Following the incident, we are investigating an inquest case,” he said.
