Ululation, praise singing, and applause were the order of the day as the professor robed in his official regalia and claimed his place at the helm of one of the Vaal’s top institutions.

Taking the stage to speak, Institutional Forum’s Dutch Matlaletsa said: “We congratulate Prof Ndlovu on his appointment. We had an opportunity to know you and through this period we weathered some good and bad times, which made us more mature in managing the university as we mark a new beginning. Despite the challenges, we will learn and discover how to make VUT the university of choice. As the forum, we intend to work with you.”
