Vuyo Primary makes Sedibeng proud
The money won by the school will make a difference in the lives of our innocent souls.

SHARPEVILLE.- It was a hive of activities as multitudes of teachers and learners from different districts within the Gauteng province shared a stage in the provincial ‘Baswa le Meetsi’ competition.
They showcased their presentations about water conservation and sanitation under the theme “Water is life, sanitation is dignity” hosted by the Department of Water and Sanitation. Sharpeville’s Vuyo Primary School was represented by its departmental head and teacher, Gadlama Sapho, who did presentations about water conservation and solutions to the water crisis.
Thamsanqa Nonkenku (a learner) presented a praise poem about water conservation and sanitation, and teacher Xoliswa Thango (values in education coordinator) presented the values of education.
“It was tough, but we managed to obtain second place out of multiple contestants who gave their all to come out on top,” said Gadlama.
The school received a trophy, certificate, and R8 000.
“Thanks to the Department of Water and Sanitation. The money won by the school will make a difference in the lives of our innocent souls,” Thango said.
Meanwhile, the same school was busy at the DP de Villiers stadium in Sasolburg with the following learners competing in district athletics championships: Masego Makhata, Mkangala Lulutho, Buso Ayabonga, and Masiza Indiphile, together with their coaches, Bongiwe Sigidi and Nwabisa Cetyana.
“We did not make it to the next level of the athletics competitions, but I am proud of our athletes who showed character and determination,” said Sigidi.
