Unidentified man found with stab wounds in Bophelong

Police appeal for witnesses and seek the identity of the deceased African male.

VANDERBIJLPARK – Vanderbijlpark Police is investigating a murder case after the gruesome discovery of a lifeless body in an open veld in Bophelong, Ext 11, on May 31.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Sabelo Sigcu confirmed the incident and said police found a man suspected to be in his 30s with multiple stab wounds.

“The deceased is not known yet, and is suspected to be 35 years old.”

Sigcu further added that the victim was declared dead by paramedics who attended the scene.

The community of Bophelong is urged to come forward with any information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators. “Anyone who can identify the deceased must contact the police so that the family can get the closure that they deserve,” he said.

Sigcu urged anyone with information to contact the investigating officer, Captain Mahlaha, on 076 350 640.
