Midvaal girls bloom through ‘Become-Her’ empowerment programme

MIDVAAL – Ten young girls from Midvaal are embarking on a life-changing journey of self-discovery and empowerment through the Become-Her programme.

Become-Her is a collaborative initiative by DAWN (DA’s Women’s Network), the Midvaal Chamber of Commerce, OflikeMind, and the Idube Foundation NPC.

The programme, hosted at Rooted event hub recently, is said to be a powerful, soft, feminine, and uplifting experience designed to nurture young girls as they bloom into their identities.

Through guided workshops, participants are encouraged to discover their strengths, embrace their uniqueness, and develop essential life skills that support confidence, leadership, emotional awareness, and self-expression.

Become-Her goes beyond a conventional workshop.

It is a journey to help young girls explore their greater selves and step into becoming more confident, more aware, and more courageous as they begin their path towards becoming their own heroes.

Following the first two sessions, the impact of the programme was already evident.
The programme will continue throughout December and January, ensuring sustained engagement and deeper development for the participants.

In addition to the transformative learning experience, the girls were treated to T-shirts, notebooks, pens, as well as tasty refreshments and lunch, which added to the sense of care and celebration around their journey.

Idube Foundation NPC founder, Danelle Dreyer, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders in Midvaal who made the initiative possible.

“Thank you to everyone who believes in and invests in our youth,” she said.
