WALKERVILLE – Tyler Jacobs claimed the South African Elite Women’s Road Race title after a thrilling sprint finish at the 2026 National Road, Time Trial & Para Cycling Championships at Rosenbusch Estate in Walkerville on Saturday.
The race was decided in a closely fought sprint, with Jacobs edging out Lisa Bone, who finished second. One of South Africa’s most accomplished riders, Ashleigh Moolman Pasio, completed the podium in third.

Moolman Pasio had already made her mark earlier in the championships, winning the Elite Women’s Time Trial title on Thursday.
Cycling South Africa praised the elite women’s race in a post on Facebook, describing it as a contest defined by determination and tactical racing.
“What a race. Pure grit, smart racing, and big heart from the elite women out there today. National titles earned the hard way,” the federation said.
The championships, hosted by the Midvaal Local Municipality, continue on Sunday, with attention turning to the Elite Men’s Road Race. The men will contest a demanding 185.8 km over multiple laps of the 14.7 km Midvaal circuit, starting at 12:30.
