ActionSA donates to Khulisa

Ensuring accountability and safeguarding their rights is key.

SEBOKENG.- The ActionSA Provincial and Regional Disability Forum recently undertook a visit to have lunch and donate clothes to the Khulisa Disability Network Centre in Zone 12.

ActionSA’s regional chairperson, Bongani Dhlamini, said the centre manager also requested help in recovering funds allocated by Social Development to the centre, which allegedly didn’t reach their bank account.

The centre survives on donations from individuals.

“We are demanding accountability and action for misappropriation of funds meant for people with disabilities and calling for funds to be redirected and those responsible to face the consequences. Investigations should be conducted, if it comes to push a fraud docket should be opened, and the Human Rights Commission needs to step in to protect the rights of people living with disabilities. Ensuring accountability and safeguarding their rights is key.”

Dhlamini further said that his party will be working closely with Khulisa Disability Network, ensuring that justice is done.
