BARRAGE – What was meant to be a procedure undertaken help heal a stranded woman, ended badly when she lost her life.

This comes after a 33-year-old woman allegedly burned to death inside an indumba in Barrage, on Wednesday [April 15] where the ritual she was undergoing ended tragically.

Sources close to the matter claims the woman turned to traditional healing after being discharged from the hospital.

According to information obtained by Ster, the ritual took a horrifying turn when the woman was subjected to a steaming process involving boiling water and heated rocks.

A source close to the incident detailed the gruesome moment of the situation that spiralled out of control.

“When the healer and the husband went back to check on her, she had collapsed. She wasn’t responding. They tried to check her pulse, but it was already too late,” the source revealed.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were called to the scene, but the woman was declared dead on arrival.
Police later found her lifeless body inside the traditional consulting room, with reports indicating she had sustained severe burn wounds to her upper body and face.

Authorities have since opened an inquest docket to determine the exact cause of death.

While no arrests have been made, investigations are ongoing.
