SASOLBURG – A 48-year-old man was arrested on September 26 after cops found an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and empty cartridges hidden under a car seat.
The Fezile Dabi District Trio Task Team pulled over a white Mercedes-Benz at 23:30, following a tip-off about a driver carrying an illegal weapon.
“The suspect could not provide a licence for the firearm, and preliminary investigations revealed that the recovered firearm was allegedly stolen during an armed robbery,” said Rani
The suspect is expected to appear in the Sasolburg Magistrate’s Court on a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm.
