Fezile Dabi bids farewell to Station Commander
Throughout the event, speakers praised Colonel Marika Galant as a warm, dedicated, and community-focused leader.
SASOLBURG – “Today, we celebrate an extraordinary human being and a remarkable milestone in her career with the SAPS. You have been a pillar of strength to the Fezile Dabi District,” said Fezile Dabi District Commissioner, Major General Makubo, honoring Sasolburg Station Commander Colonel Marika Galant as she hangs up her uniform after 37 years of dedicated service.
The Fezile Dabi District hosted a fitting farewell function at El Don Lifestyle on September 30.The event commenced with a guard of honour led by Major General Makubo, who rendered Colonel Galant her final official salute.

Dignitaries, colleagues, friends, and family gathered to celebrate her legacy.
Among those present were Deputy District Commissioner Brigadier Sefatsa and Community Policing Forum (CPF) Chairperson Mr. Wright.
Rising through the ranks
Colonel Galant began her journey with the South African Police Service in 1989 and steadily rose through the ranks.
Delivering the keynote address, Major General Makubo thanked Colonel Galant’s family for their sacrifices and support throughout her decades of service.
In her farewell speech, Colonel Galant expressed heartfelt gratitude to her family, colleagues, and the CPF for their unwavering support in the fight against crime, reflecting fondly on the challenges and triumphs of her 37-year career.
