Twenty-five injured following four-vehicle collision

WALKERVILLE.- Twenty-five people were injured after two taxis, a truck and a bakkie collided on the R550 in Walkerville.

According to emergency service, ER24, the accident took place at Walkerville on Wednesday morning.

When ER24 arrived at the scene, at 10h18 they found the bakkie and truck in one lane.

“The two taxis were found on opposite sides of the road,” said ER24
“Medics assessed the numerous patients walking around on the scene and found that approximately twenty-five patients had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found.”
The patients were treated and transported by various services to nearby hospitals for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
