Local SPCA: With infinite patience comes great reward
That’s what the local SPCA were gifted on Friday morning when the little vervet monkey, who has been playing hide and seek with them for quite a while, monkeyed his way into their trap.

The lure of all the lunchbox goodies they packed for him was just too much to resist.
When the little guy was spotted at a a local crèche the SPCA geared up once more, and this time he was caught.
“Thank goodness this baby was caught, as upon examination it was revealed that his arm had been broken so severely and was starting to show signs of infection. We immediately took the little wannabe learner to the vet,’ reads the feedback on the SPCA Facebook.

“Vervet monkeys live in family groups and they actually follow the age-old route set by the matriarchs of the family on a daily basis. They do not invade our space, they have been following the same route for many years.
“Unfortunately, we infringe on this route and then the clashes with humans ensue, often ending in a very sad outcome for these primates,” the situation is explained by the SPCA.
The SPCA asks people to please not take matters into your own hands when there is a sighting of a vervet monkey or a troop in your area.
“Just keep your windows and doors locked, make sure your dustbins don’t become an easy target and they will move on. We can all co-habit if we just show a little respect and empathy”.
If you have a problem where they do invade your home and you feel threatened please call your local SPCA.
The little monkey that was caught needed medical care and the SPCA account is now in need of resuscitation.
They are hoping there will be a few people that would assist them in this regard by making a small donation so they can continue to assist those that cannot speak for themselves.

Any amount will be appreciated.
