ATM bombed at Mandela Square

SEBOKENG. – An undisclosed amount of money was taken after an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) was bombed at Mandela Square Shopping Complex in Boitumelo, Sebokeng, last week.
It is said that two security guards inside Mandela square saw about seven armed men enter the complex coming to their direction, and they ran to open for the guard dogs. The dogs ran to the suspects’ direction and they (the suspects) started to discharge firearms, and shot the dogs.
Police Spokesperson Sergeant, Nombulelo Mohlakoana said that the suspects then proceeded to FNB ATM’s where they bombed open the main door from behind and managed to go the ATMs.
“Further explosives were planted from the back of ATM machines whereby one ATM was managed to be opened while the other one couldn’t and an undisclosed amount of money was taken.”
The suspects managed to flee the scene; no arrests have been made thus far.
