VAAL PARK. – Vaalpark Primary’s Top 20 grade 7 learners recently had a well-deserved break. For four days and three nights they had a good time in Gauteng, learned a lot and enjoyed everything to the fullest.

The tour kicked off with a trip in the Gautrain from Rhodesfield to Sandton for a nice breakfast, before they took the express train again. The rest of the day was spent at the Cradle of Mankind and concluded with a concert.

Day two provided great excitement. In the morning a zipline was attempted and in the afternoon the Vaal parkers had the chance to learn more about elephants and feed them in Hartebeespoort.

From Harties to Pretoria for Ten Pin Bowling and pizzas.

The following day, the educational center of the maximum prison in Pretoria was visited where one of the prisoners told her story to the learners.

In the afternoon the Voortrekker Monument was visited and the day ended with a movie. The next morning everyone enjoyed themselves at the Water World in Muldersdrift.

The top 20 were accompanied by the acting principal, Jannie Erasmus and two teachers Stella Wegger and Marie-Louise Hauptfleish.
