BOIPATONG – Sergeant Mapaseka Maketekete of Boipatong SAPS has continued to shine and accumulate accolades, with her latest awards coming from both the district and provincial levels.
Having served the police force for 14 years, Maketekete’s list of awards continues to grow.
This year alone, she has added to her impressive collection, first with an award at the Sedibeng Cluster Prestigious Awards, and most recently, she received further recognition.
Maketekete’s journey of accolades began in 2018, and she has since made it her mission to excel in her line of duty.
Reflecting on her recent accomplishments, she said, “I’ve been receiving awards from 2018 till date. Since then, I knew that what I was doing was correct. The 1st runner-up award I received during the provincial prestigious awards that were held on the 27th of October 2023 was my 9th award since 2018.”
Her enduring commitment to her role is a testament to her unwavering dedication. “I serve with pride despite the challenges I face at work every single day. I am a mother of two, and I want to thank my family for always supporting me. My husband and kids are my cheerleaders; whenever I’m down because of work-related issues, they remind me that I’m the Woman of the Year,” she expressed gratefully.
Maketekete also acknowledged the invaluable support she has received from the community, stating, “If it wasn’t for the support I also got from Boipatong CPF, patrollers, and youth, I wouldn’t be where I am now.”
Her deep connection to the community and commitment to upholding justice are evident in her unwavering dedication.
“I will never stop doing justice to the community that I once took an oath for. I will continue to strive for the greater good until my last breath,” she affirmed.
