Thankfully, a compassionate pedestrian stepped in just in time!

The kind soul rescued the tortoise, ensuring its safety until our Inspectorate arrived.

“It’s heartening to see how every individual can make a difference for our furry and scaly friends,” the Vereeniging & Vanderbijlpark SPCA said in a Facebook post.

The SPCA urges individuals who encounter an animal in distress to please don’t hesitate to contact their office at 016 422 1505.

“We are here to help and deeply care about every creature, big or small.”
