Suspects arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm and live ammunition

A case of possession of unlicensed firearms and live ammunition was opened.

SEBOKENG. – Six suspects were arrested after the Westonaria detectives together with the Sedibeng K9 and Sedibeng tracing team received a tip-off of illegal firearms at Beverly Hills near Evaton recently.

Police Spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi, said that the firearms are linked to a case of murder that occurred in the Westonaria area.

“Upon their arrival at the address provided the information was positive, they found two unlicensed firearms and eighty-seven (87) live ammunition. The one firearm was inside the vehicle that was parked inside the yard and the other one inside the garage,” Msibi said.

A case of possession of unlicensed firearms and live ammunition was opened for further investigation and six suspects were immediately arrested.
