EVATON.- For the past few months, the Evaton police have been inundated with complaints regarding individuals depositing money at retail shops in exchange for promised permanent job placements.

These scammers masquerade as job agencies and deceive people into making payments at these retail establishments.

Police spokesperson, Constable Thulisile Msibi emphasised the importance of vigilance, particularly for Road Accident Fund (RAF) beneficiaries, urging them to exercise caution when sharing their financial status with others.

Msibi highlighted numerous cases where individuals have been kidnapped, with their money subsequently stolen.
