Boipatong SAPS’ safer schools program underway
About 120 community patrollers were seen patrolling both sectors 1 and 2 and were highly visible in these areas.
BOIPATONG. – The Boipatong police are hard at work, making sure that schools in their policing precinct are safe.
This was proven when the Boipatong SAPS’ Sergeant Tlokolo, a designated Firearm Officer, Constable Mthimkulu a Sector Commander together with the Community Policing Forum (CPF) recently visited two high schools in the area namely Jet Nteo and Lehohang Secondary Schol as part of a safer school’s program.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela said that as part of ‘Adopt a Cop’ they conducted a school search at the gates of schools and that learners were searched upon entering the schoolyards for dangerous weapons.
About 120 community patrollers were seen patrolling both sectors 1 and 2 and were highly visible in these areas.
“Patrollers were also deployed to Pick n Pay and Engen garage, to ensure safety to pensioners as it was pension day and more visits were to ATMs. Sgt Tlokolo together with Cst Mthimkulu also visited the second-hand outlets for compliance.”
