Milford pushes Rovers deep in relegation
As things stand, it seems as if Sedibeng will be without top-flight football if both teams are relegated.

VANDERBIJLPARK. Platinum City Rovers face the danger of being relegated at the end of the season.
Rovers suffered a 3-1 defeat against a high-spirited Milford in the Motsepe Foundation Championships match played at Isak Steyl Stadium in Vanderbijlpark on Saturday.
As things stand, Rovers is at the bottom of the log with few games remaining before the end of the season. They have accumulated only 24 points from 25 games they played so far this season. Marumo Gallants is second from the bottom with the same number of points as Rovers. Rover and Gallants FC have played their official games at Isak Steyl Stadium since the season started but as things stand, it seems as if Sedibeng will be without top-flight football if both teams are relegated from the Motsepe Foundation Championship come the end of the season.
Back to the game, Milford made their intentions clear from the first whistle attacking the home team from all angles, forcing their last line of defense to commit errors. Milford took the lead after Rovers’ goalkeeper, Bruno Nkumane committed an error and mistakenly passed the ball straight to the opposition player. The game went to interval with Milford leading 1-0.
In the second half, the visitors began where they left off in the first half, launching attack after attack with some exciting movement on and off the ball. At this stage, Rovers defend with their backs against the wall. It was an exciting game to watch for the handful of supporters in the stands.
Rovers’ Coach, Tlou Segolela is still optimistic that his side will put in miracles to survive relegation at the end of the season.
“We must keep on fighting until the last game of the season and hopefully other teams will lose their game especially those who are in the same situation as us. But I believe it is not yet over because we are still left with a few games to escape relegation,” he told Sedibeng Ster.
