Ackermans Store robbed, four people shot at a shebeen in Boiketlong

SEBOKENG.- A case of attempted murder is being investigated after four people were shot at a shebeen in Boiketlong, Sebokeng on Sunday.

Police spokesperson, Nthabiseng Mokhachane said that random shots were fired by a group of people at Alfred’s shebeen in Boiketlong and four people who were at the shebeen and nearby shacks were shot at.

“It is currently unknown why the suspects shot randomly, but according to anonymous tip offs, the shootout is possibly tribal. The police urge the community to come forward with any information that can assist with investigation,” Mokhachane said.

Meanwhile, Mokhachane said that the police are also investigating a case of business robbery after unknown men entered the Ackerman’s Store at the Sebokeng Plaza and stole undisclosed items, and cash.

“It is alleged that one of the employees was busy cleaning when she saw unknown men entering the store. One of the men showed the employee a firearm on his waist and instructed her to go to the back. Upon arrival at the back, she saw another suspect pointing a firearm at her colleagues,” said Mokhachane adding that the employees were forced to open the tills and the suspects took an undisclosed amount.

“They further took cell phones and clothing from the store. After the incident, the suspects fled on foot to an unknown location.”

The police urge the community to come forward if they have information regarding the case.
