BOPHELONG.- Tebello Manzenze (15) is one young footballer who shows great potential to become one of the legendary goalkeepers to have come out of Sedibeng. ‘S’ Khuluma No’ caught up with this 15 years old goalkeeper from Muvhango Ext 15 in Bophelong, and this what he had to say in an exclusive interview with Sedibeng Ster Sport after his team’s league match at Cecil Oldridge Parkin Vanderbijlpark on Saturday.

Q: Many young soccer players don’t like to be a goalkeeper but you chose to be the last line of defense as a goalkeeper, Why?
A: It was always my wish to be a goalkeeper and I enjoy each an every moment to be between the poles. I know it is not easy to be a goalkeeper because goalkeepers are used as scapegoats most of the time especially when the team loses.
Q: Where do you want to see yourself as far as goalkeeping is concerned?
A: I want to make a name for myself. I want people to remember me as one of the greatest goalkeepers to have come out of Sedibeng. I’m aware that there are not many goalkeepers from Sedibeng in the top flight football. This tells you some about the standard of goalkeepers at amateur level. We need proper training at a young age to become the best goalkeepers. You can see there are many promising goalkeepers in our junior leagues but our biggest challenge is goalkeeper coaches.
Q: Who is your favourite goalkeeper, and why?
A: It must be Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson Santana de Maraes. I really admire him and I learn a lot from him. This is how I improve my goalkeeping skills, by watch his videos.
Q: What does the future hold for you?
A: I want to travel the world and represent my country.
