Newborn baby boy found dumped

SEBOKENG – The police in Sebokeng are investigating a concealment of birth following the discovery of the lifeless body of a newborn baby in Sonder Water. The incident happened on September 4.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane confirmed the incident, adding that the baby was spotted by a community member who alerted the police.

“Police inspected further and called Emergency Services. They confirmed that the body was that of a newborn baby boy. The umbilical cord was still attached.”

Mokhachane said the body was taken to the Sebokeng Government Mortuary for further investigation.
“The police would like to thank the community members for their vigilance and continuous support in combating crime.”
