Maile engages local communities after lootings

SEDIBENG.- Gauteng Economic Development MEC Lebogang Maile visited the area on Monday to engage with the community and families affected by the recent violence and looting of spaza shops.

He met with community members to address concerns following the fatal shooting of a local shop owner last week.

According to Maile the Gauteng Provincial Government has enhanced its inspection team to enforce compliance with health regulations and consumer protection laws in all spaza shops province-wide. Maile also discussed available government assistance for township businesses and arranged a follow-up meeting with the community next week.
