Barrage SAPS talks about GBV

All patroller ladies were given a gift, specially engraved with their names.

SEDIBENG.- The Barrage SAPS Social Crime Prevention Unit recently held a gender-based violence (GBV) talk with their patrollers in Barrage recently.

The aim was to address all matters related to GBV.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Nombulelo Mohlakoana said different stakeholders embraced the event and addressed patrollers.

From the Department of Justice, Joseph Mahuma explained the process of protection orders and harassment orders. The Department of Health’s Sister Nhlapo from the Mullerstuine Clinic addressed all health issues such as cancer, STDs, and other female health-related issues.  From the Department of Community Safety, Reggie Modiba motivated women about being a patroller who the community can depend on, and how to avoid disputes. CPF Treasurer, Anna Phosa addressed women on how to start a business and be a farmer.

All patroller ladies were given a gift, specially engraved with their names, from the CPF as a token of appreciation for their dedication.
