Safer festive season operation yields positive results
The suspects were apprehended for offenses including drunk driving, possession and dealing of drugs, and undocumented persons.
SHARPEVILLE.- A safer festive season operation led by Brigadier Manamela, in collaboration with 1fourteen police stations from the Sedibeng District, resulted in the arrest of twenty four suspects for various offenses.

The operation, which took place under the Sharpeville Police precinct, included participation from key stakeholders such as the Department of Home Affairs, the Department of Community Safety, Gauteng Traffic Wardens, Emfuleni Traffic, Public Safety, and Community Patrollers. The suspects were apprehended for offenses including drunk driving, possession and dealing of drugs, and undocumented persons. This joint effort underscores the police’s commitment to curbing criminal activities and ensuring public safety during the festive season.
Sharpeville Police spokesperson Constable Busisiwe Sango confirmed that the arrested individuals will soon appear in court.
“The operation was a success, and we remain dedicated to ensuring a safer community throughout the holiday period,” said Sango.
