VANDERBIJLPARK – The Augtober Winds swept across the Vaal Triangle on Sundag, October 27 making it almost impossible to enjoy
the outdoors let alone play baseball.
The Vaal Dodgers, sponsored by Sportsmans Warehouse, hosted several teams in the GPBC Summer League at Route 66’s sports grounds in Vanderbijlpark.
Gusts of wind, sand and grass flying everywhere made play nearly impossible, but the teams, officials and spectators braved the harsh conditions.
The U15’s of the Vaal Dodgers showed tremendous fighting spirit, coming back 4-0 from behind to beat Benoni by 9-8, but lost by 11-8 to Palm Ridge in a match played in blistering wind.
The Vaal Dodgers’ next home games will take place on December 1.
