PenBuddy Project: Every pencil counts!

Please bring all the short pencils, half sets of crayons, erasers, extra rulers and scissors and even book covers that you haven't used.

Please don’t throw away old pens and other stationery, instead support our PenBuddy Project. Vaalweekblad and all the MooiVaal publications are working on a project to collect stationery for children at local schools who do not have stationery. Please bring all the short pencils, half sets of crayons, erasers, extra rulers and scissors and even book covers that you haven’t used.

What seems useless to you may help someone else. For many parents, it is no longer possible to purchase stationery for their children. We would appreciate the community’s support. There are special boxes where the stationery can be dropped off at our Vaalweekblad office in SW 5, Vanderbijlpark (23 Delius Street), as well as at the Biltong Bar in the River Square shopping center in Vereeniging. Every pencil and every pen can make a difference. Help us help our children. For more information contact Elsje Vermeulen at elsje@mooivaal.co.za.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
