SEBOKENG.- The former soccer star who turned football analyst, Lucky Mhlathe, made dreams come true for a local girl.
Mhlathe who is DSTV’S Football Channel analyst donated money to the local netball star, Palesa Bongo.

Following the article published on Sedibeng Ster’s website where Bongo pleaded for financial assistance to represent the Sedibeng District in the 2024 Spar National Netball Championships, Mhlathe decided to donate. The national championships are scheduled to take place at Ellis Park Arena in Johannesburg from December 1-7. The total cost of the trip is R4 050, which includes accommodation, transport, meals, warm-up tops, and truck-suits.

The former Jomo Cosmos speedy midfielder committed to pay Bongo’s accommodation and buy her tekkies. Mhlathe already paid a certain amount into the Sedibeng Netball account. He promised to pay another amount sometime next week. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Mhlathe said he was touched by the article and thought he wanted to contribute to helping this young girl.
“As a former athlete this hit home, because I know how this young girl feels. I will help with the little I have to make this girl’s dream come true. I will be happy to see this girl going to represent our region. I wish other people could come on board also to contribute something,” said Mhlathe.
Bongo was relieved when she received the news that Mhlathe would assist.
