Midvaal Sports and Recreation, in collaboration with the Gauteng Department of Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation, South Corridor, and the local cycling club, Club du Cirque, hosted a mountain bike event to foster social cohesion and encourage active, healthy lifestyles.
This program focuses on developing cycling in previously disadvantaged communities within the Sedibeng Region, mobilizing youth to participate in the sport.
At the Café du Cirque on Saturday, November 9, an official handover of bicycles took place, with MMC for Community Services Cllr. Mary-Anne Myburgh, Ward 12 Councillor Cllr. Mariana Kruger, and officials from the Gauteng Department and Sedibeng District Municipality in attendance.
This initiative marks a step towards building safer, united, and sustainable communities through cycling.
