Dispute over Emfuleni juniors’ final logs

“At one stage we tried to bring this matter to the attention of the executive committee with no success."

SEBOKENG.- With the Emfuleni Local Football Association (ELFA) hosting the Champ of Champs Playoffs, there are mixed feelings about the final logs standing.

The four stream teams of Evaton, Sebokeng, Vereeniging, and Vanderbijlpark are not happy with the final logs. The Champ of Champs Playoffs are scheduled to take place at one of the venues in Vereeniging this weekend. These playoffs will see the four streams playing together to produce overall winners for Emfuleni. However, some of the club officials took their frustrations to their respective WhatsApp groups about their dissatisfaction with the final logs.

This matter was brought to the attention of the ELFA head of development, Master Zondo during the season. Sedibeng Ster spoke with some of the teams from other streams and they said they are not happy with the final logs.

“At one stage we tried to bring this matter to the attention of the executive committee with no success. We were told our concern would be given the necessary attention but we are still waiting. This is frustrating because we played the whole season and found that we played for nothing. They must also declare the juniors league null and void,” said the club’s officials.

In the previous interview with Sedibeng Ster Sport, Zondo acknowledged that some of the results were not captured because the office received them late.
