Man sentenced for culpable homicide

The suspension of the imprisonment sentence is conditional upon the accused not committing a similar offense during the suspension period.

BOIPATONG.- The Vanderbijlpark Magistrate’s Court sentenced an accused to two years’ imprisonment of which were suspended for five years and a fine of R10 000.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela said the court found the accused guilty of culpable homicide for the incident that happened on September 20, 2020.

“The suspension of the imprisonment sentence is conditional upon the accused not committing a similar offense during the suspension period. This judgment underscores the legal system’s balance between accountability and the opportunity for rehabilitation, with strict conditions set to ensure compliance,” Maxambela explained.

The station commander Lieutenant Colonel Phonoshe and the Boipatong management welcomed the work done by the investigating detective Sergeant Motaung.
