Black Friday child safety tips
A trip to the shopping mall with children can be overwhelming; in the blink of an eye, children can get lost in a maze of shops and crowds of people. Be vigilant and always keep an eye on your children.

With Black Friday and festive season sales already here, it can mean crowded store and mall conditions. SAPS shares some child safety tips.
- If you are taking your children along, discuss “what if” safety scenarios before shopping or attending a public event.
- Teach your child to always check with you first before they separate from you.
- Always supervise your children in public spaces and accompany young children to the restroom.
- Have teenage kids meet you in a pre-designated spot (eg, the sales counter or mall information booth).
- Don’t treat public facilities as a “convenient babysitter.” Do not leave your children alone at video arcades, movie theatres, play areas, or other public places.
