One of the greatest…Jazz Fanatics

“Jazz and I are one thing, till death do us part."

SHARPEVILLE.- At the age of 64, one would never guess that Nomsa Nyaka still has the feet to tap and dance to the sounds of Jazz.

The Putswastene, Sharpeville, resident is a loyal member of the Sharpeville Ladies Jazz Club, which was launched in 2022. Nyaka has been a jazz fanatic since the 80s supporting the likes of the Sharpeville Jazz Syndicate, which hosted the late bro Dono Kaibe’s place (Nom’s Kitchen) and later on moved to bro Bozzy Skaledi in Vuka.

She was also a follower of Sharpeville Jazz Giants, Imbokodo Jazz Club, and The Avente Guarde Jazz Collectors of Sebokeng. Her role models are Sister Chocks, the late Gift Makume, the late bro Shakes Seshabela, Mokgomo Potsane, bro Thekiso, and bro Fish Motaung.

“Jazz and I are one thing, till death do us part,” said the bubbly Nyaka.
