KLIPRIVIER. – Two suspects will soon appear in court to answer charges of hijacking and kidnapping. This is after they were arrested by police during a search operation on December 4.

The operation was activated by the Sedibeng Essential Infrastructure Task Team with the K9 search and rescue unit, the Midvaal peace officer as well as various private security companies.

Speaking to Ster North, police spokesperson Sergeant Tintswalo Ndhambi said the incident happened around noon.

“The Hijacking happened on the Golden Highway. The victim was subsequently taken to Kliprivier bushes where he was being guarded by two men.”

Ndhambi said the team left no stone unturned in looking for the victim who was found, and two of his captors were arrested.

The victim’s car was nowhere to be found as other suspects had driven off with it.
