Police show love and care for the underprivileged this festive season

A prayer was also held during the campaign to bless the underprivileged during the festive season.

SEDIBENG.- The festive season is upon us and Christmas came early for the residents of the Mamello Informal Settlement in Vaal Marina.
The Vaal Marina SAPS and Siyabangena patrollers conducted a gender-based violence (GBV) awareness campaign for the community with objectives that included raising awareness about GBV, promoting unity, and sharing as a symbol of love and care.

The disadvantaged families of the informal settlement were showered with love as they were given clothes during the campaign.

A prayer was also held during the campaign to bless the Uunderprivileged during the festive season.

Police spokesperson Constable Tshilidzi de Huis said, “The community was very happy, including the young ones (children). We prayed with them just to thank the Lord. We also encouraged the community, including men, to break the silence and report any form of abuse.”
