Final screening phase of the SAPS recruitment process currently underway

The final screening phase of the SAPS recruitment process and selection of entry-level police trainees for the 2024/2025 intake is currently underway.

The process is underway in all nine provinces with interviews being conducted with applicants’ next of kin and other community members.

SAPS spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Amanda van Wyk is encouraging applicants to give their full cooperation towards finalising this process.

“SAPS will, in due course, issue correspondence to notify those applicants who are successful. If applicants have not been contacted, please accept that the application was unsuccessful.”

Van Wyk said training is expected to start in the coming weeks, the exact date will be communicated soon.

At the end of last year, 2 699 newly trained constables graduated and are now deployed to stations and units to bolster SAPS crime-combatting efforts.
