SEDIBENG – Vaal’s popular EFF parliamentarian, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, has voluntarily resigned as EFF’s member of parliament.
The news of Ndlozi’s resignation and that of Yazini Tetyana surfaced on Thursday morning, January 9, after it was reserved by the secretary-general of the EFF, Marshall Dlamini.
The party posted a press statement on X welcoming the resignations.
“EFF has received the voluntary resignations of fighter Yazini Tetyana and fighter Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi as representatives of the EFF in the Parliament of South Africa,” read the statement.
“The EFF has accepted the respective voluntary requests to be released from the deployment of the two fighters, who have diligently served the organisation in their respective deployments since the EFF has had representation in the legislative sphere,” continued the statement.
Ndlozi was born and bred in Evaton and served in the top leadership structures of the EFF.
The 40-year-old politician obtained his PhD in Political Sociology at the University of Witwatersrand in 2017.
Ndlozi has served in the National Assembly since 2014 and was once the party’s national spokesperson.
He has kept his parliamentary seat for two successive general elections, 2019 and 2024, after being one of the first members to represent the party in Parliament.
Ndlozi recently skipped the party’s third elective congress in Johannesburg in December, following reports of a fallout with party leader Julius Malema and questions about his future in the party.
