MIDVAAL – Applications for the 2025 Mayoral Student Financial Aid are open and will close on January 24.

Applicants are urged to keep in mind that the opportunity is available to full-time students enrolled in public institutions only.

The initiative launched in 2024 to support students pursuing higher education qualifications saw a high volume of applications received.

Following a thorough review process, 29 students were approved for financial aid. The students received various forms of support, including tuition, registration fees, and essential study resources such as laptops and books.

According to Midvaal Local Municipality (MLM), a total of R750 000 was allocated to this endeavour to address the significant demand for study assistance.

Midvaal Mayor Peter Teixeira says as an administration, they are committed to fulfilling the Mayoral undertaking of creating opportunities for all.

“Our aim is to ease the burden on students so they can pursue higher education and contribute meaningfully to society. We encourage eligible individuals to make the most of this opportunity.”
