SEBOKENG. – A 16-year-old girl died after she allegedly slipped and fell under a moving truck in Moshoeshoe Street over the weekend.

It is believed that the deceased was at the back of the truck transporting initiates.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane explained:

“As she was climbing back up, she slipped. The truck drove over her head, and she died on the scene. She was declared by the Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The truck driver alleges that he was waiting for other passengers to alight, and he only moved after they alighted, to find that he had driven over someone.”

The Sebokeng police are investigating an inquest docket.

The police urge the drivers, passengers, and pedestrians to always be vigilant on the road.
