Health MEC visits Sebokeng Hospital

This was in an effort to assess readiness for the digitalisation of patient files.

SEBOKENG.- The MEC for Health and Wellness, Nomantu Nkomo Ralehoko conducted an oversight visit at Sebokeng Hospital recently.

This was in an effort to assess readiness for the digitalisation of patient files, and ensure improved records management and archiving. Following the successful implementation of the digitisation of old patient files at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital and Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital, the Gauteng Department of Health is preparing to start the process at Sebokeng Hospital.

“The eHealth system uses the power of cloud technology which is ensuring efficiency and accuracy, and offers secure storage of patient records. This centralised system is simplifying access and management of medical information, fostering a more efficient and effective healthcare system,” said the department of health.

The department further added that that the hospital has successfully opened a newly built Paediatric Emergency Unit, established a Wound clinic and a neurosurgery department, conducts cataract and orthopaedic camps to reduce surgical backlogs, and established fully fledged Mammogram services which has improved breast cancer screening for the community of Sebokeng and surrounding areas.
