SEBOKENG.- Following a long absence from netball, Bright Chauke is a man on a mission to change the fortune of the Ballers Netball Club.

The club is based in Lakeside.

Sedibeng Ster Sport spoke to Chauke, who is one of the longest-serving servants of netball in Sedibeng. His development in netball dates back to 2010 when he worked alongside veteran administrators like Dudu Msane.
Chauke told Sedibeng Ster Sport that Msane played a huge role in his coaching career. Chauke left Sedibeng to go to other districts to gain more experience.

His mission is to recruit the best talent in Lakeside to transform the Ballers Netball Club into one of the best clubs in Sedibeng. He believes there is a lot of talent in the area that needs to be given a chance. This former Bees Netball Club coach said looking back he felt a sense of pride considering the number of players he produced in the Vaal.

“I want to produce more players from here, so I returned home to continue where I left off. The other reason I wanted to come back is I’m very passionate about the development of sports and I do not doubt that with the support of the Lakeside community, I will achieve my dream. I’m very grateful for the work of the local coaches. They have upped the game to another level.”

Chauke told Sedibeng Ster Sport that for years netball has been one of the most underrated sporting codes in the country and this must change.
