he two-day tournament will see eight local soccer teams battle it out for R10 000 prize money.
SEBOKENG.- The Neolodi Super8 Tournament is scheduled to take place at the dusty Vaal Killers ground in Zone 8, Sebokeng on February 22 and 23.
It is a Wafa Wafa kind of tournament with R10 000 at stake.
The tournament is for charity purposes.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Themba Zwelibanzi who is behind this initiative said the tournament aims to collect school shoes and donate them to the school of their choice in the community. The two-day tournament will see eight local soccer teams battle it out for R10 000 prize money. Zwelibanzi has been hosting successful community tournaments as part of the ‘Don’t Do Crime‘ campaign.
Recently he held a successful Don’t Do Crime Tournament at the George Thabe Stadium where the Sharpeville community came in numbers to support this initiative. The Don’t Do Crime tournaments play an important role in keeping young people busy, especially during the holidays. The Neolodi Super8 Tournament is part of the Don’t Do Crime campaign. Zwelibanzi urges the Zone 8 community to come in numbers to support this initiative.
“The tournament is not about winning but for charity and the Don’t Do Crime campaign. We make a special plea to the people to contribute a pair of school shoes to those less fortunate,” said Zwelibanzi.
