Five people shot, one dead, after an alleged argument over a drink at ‘Sgureng’

SEBOKENG.- A murder and attempted murder investigation is underway after five people were shot at TK’s Tavern, commonly known as ‘Sgureng’ in Zone 10 Extension 2, Sebokeng in the early hours of this morning, Saturday.
It is alleged that the suspect was from around Sebokeng area together with his friends, and his girlfriend, in the early hours of the morning. They then decided to go to ‘Sgureng’ where they sat and enjoyed their alcohol beverages.
“Suddenly the suspect (is said to have) had an argument with his girlfriend over a beverage, they (his friends) tried to reprimand him, and he was chased away. He then came back after a few minutes (and was) carrying a number of firearms, others on his hands the others on his waist,” Police spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane said.
She adds that the suspect is alleged to have started shooting randomly and as the deceased tried to hold him from behind, he shot the deceased on his lower and upper body.
“He was declared dead on the scene by the Emergency Medical Services and further taken to Sebokeng Forensic Pathology Services. Four other people were shot at and were rushed to the hospital for medical attention,” Mokhachane explained.
Mokhachane further said that the suspect is known, and still at large.
