Vaal Marina Easter and road safety awareness

Any person who employs undocumented people will be arrested.

SEDIBENG.- The Vaal Marina SAPS together with different role players held an operation in their policing precinct on Tuesday.

The role players included:

• Gauteng traffic police
• Gauteng traffic wardens
• Heidelberg traffic control centre
• Vispol commander Warrant officer Russel
•Social Crime Prevention Coordinator
• Sector commander
• Vispol members-02

Police spokesperson, Constable Tshilidzi De Huis, said that the operation was a success.

“Trucks and other suspicious vehicle were stopped and searched and documents were verified. Warrant of arrest were issued, fines and motorists were also informed about adhering to road restrictions.”

Tshilidzi said that the aim of the operation was to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, enhance safety for both road users and workers, and address specific needs like construction or and crime that occurs on roads such as theft of motor vehicle, hijacking, trafficking in person and undocumented persons.

“As the South African Police Services (SAPS) we are making sure that we arrest people for safety and security reasons because they commit crime, and they can not be traced because their fingerprints are not in our systems. Any person who employs undocumented people will be arrested. Community is warned not to employ any person with out papers.”
