Meyerton shooting: Stray bullet hits learner – parents in uproar
The shooting took place this morning at the taxi rank.
MEYERTON – A high school learner from Hoërskool Dr. Malan has been injured after being hit by a stray bullet.
It is understood that the bullet first hit a cement slab, after which it bounced and hit the learner in the knee.

Many parents gathered in front of the school on Tuesday morning to pick up their children, fearing for their safety. Parents have since been reassured in a message on WhatsApp.
“Everything is safe at Hoërskool Dr. Malan. The children are safe in their classes. Police are in control. We are continuing with school as normal. We will inform parents if there are any developments,” the message reads.
The shooting took place this morning at the taxi rank. The police are still at the scene in Meyerton’s city centre where the incident took place.
