Trauma support available to members of the public after Meyerton shooting

Members of the public were left traumatised by yesterday’s shooting in broad daylight.

MEYERTON – Following a shooting incident near the taxi rank in the CBD yesterday, schools in the vicinity, including Hoërskool Dr. Malan and Laerskool Midvaal, were affected, with learners being evacuated as a precaution.

In the wake of the traumatic event, Frontline of Hope Ministries has stepped up to offer support. Members of the organisation attended the scene shortly after the incident and provided immediate trauma assistance to some of the affected learners and members of the public.

Frontline of Hope is now extending its free debriefing and trauma support services to anyone impacted by the incident, whether directly involved or emotionally affected. This includes members of the public, learners, school staff, first responders, and any other role players who were present at or near the scene.

A projectile was said to have been found in the schoolyard of Hoërskool Dr. Malan following Tuesday’s shooting.

If you or someone you know needs help processing the event, you are encouraged to reach out.
