Hlatswayo produces par excellence performance
"Winning this tournament had nothing to do with me, but it was a team effort."
BOPHELONG.- Siphokuhle Hlantswayo’s par excellence performance for her school is something to write home about.
This Hoërskool Vanderbijlpark Goal Attacker was on top of her game when her school was crowned the Sports Against Crime Games champions. This annual one-day school sports tournament took place at Isak Steyl Stadium on Saturday.
The four schools that competed in this tournament were Dr Oliphant Secondary School , Vaal High, Suncrest, and Hoërskool Vanderbijlpark.

Hlatswayo not only produced a five-star performance for her school, but also became the top goal scorer of the tournament as she had a busy day making things happen for her school as a Goal Attacker. She outclassed her markers every time she had the ball, especially in the opponent’s goal area. She was quick like lightning and jumped like there were springs under her feet.

Hlatswayo had a fun-filled day toying around with her opponents for the better part of the tournament. She was leading by example as the team captain and never disappointed. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport after her school was crowned the Sports Against Crime champions, Hlatswayo said they wanted this badly.
She told Sedibeng Ster Sport that winning this tournament had nothing to do with her, but it was a team effort.
“As much as I score for my team, it doesn’t mean I should take credit alone. It was teamwork, and everyone was on top of their game. We came into this tournament well prepared, even though we were writing exams. I’m happy that I contributed to the team’s victory, and am thankful to my teammates for bringing the best out of these games we played. Mam Mofokeng, our coach, prepared us well and we are thankful,” said Hlatswayo.
